Colin and I went to the Dr today for our 36 week appointment and ultrasound. Good news is that it's still a boy! His heartbeat was at 169. The Ultrasound tech estimated he weighs 6lbs, 1 oz which puts him in the 40th percentile for size. I honestly can't say that upsets me at all!
Other than that, he is officially head down so hopefully that means things will start progressing soon. And he has a head of hair, 11 mm to be exact. We go back next Wednesday so more updates then.
26 Days left!

Baby's First Trip to the Fire House
Seeing as both Colin and my dad had trips to the fire house when they were younger for throwing paper airplanes they set on fire, it was only a matter of time before baby made his first trip. Luckily it wasn't quite for that reason.
We got both our car seats installed this morning by the kind fire fighters at Station 4 in Cobb County. Being first time parents, the statistic that 85% of car seats are installed wrong causes fear even if your husband is a super smart Engineer =) Luckily for us, there is a program where the fire department will check out your car seats and make sure they are installed properly for free (good thing to note future moms and dads!).
So Colin is now driving around with a car seat in his truck. If that doesn't make you realize this is really happening, I'm not sure what will!

Other than that, we have been making good progress getting the house ready for baby. My wonderful friends at work threw me a shower today which was really nice! We are lucky to have such a great extended support network.
Only 4 weeks left until our official due date!

5 Loads of Laundry...
later and baby's linens have been washed. For only being 5lbs, he sure has a lot of stuff! It was a very productive Sunday-Tuesday. Now we just have to put it all away.
Here is a picture of me at 34 weeks. I had an Doctor's appointment Tuesday and everything with the baby looked fine. His heartbeat was 145 and he is still measuring about a week small. That has been consistent all along and I'm certainly not complaining! It also means I get an extra ultrasound in 2 weeks to check him out.

Happy Easter & Welcome April
I get excited each time a new month comes because it means we are that closer to the end! Officially 50 days left today, which doesn't sound like a lot but it still feels really far away.
Finally we had some exciting packages arrive in the mail this week. Colin's mom made our valance and I think it turned out great! It matches our bedding and really completes the nursery. Thank you Deb!
And I got my pregnancy-sized bridesmaid dress for Rebecca's wedding. I am hoping to lose some of the baby belly weight by then but if not I have a super cute dress to wear for future pregnancies!
We have had a busy last few weeks. Colin's co-workers threw us a very nice lunch shower. He is lucky to work with such a great group of people. Hillary drove all the way over from Alabama to spend Saturday night with us. And we got to see Ryan Murphy a few times this weekend as he was in town from Toronto for the holiday. And today we had Easter lunch with my mom's side of the family. Nothing says Easter like an egg hunt with wine bottles (too bad I can't enjoy the loot quite yet). It was so much fun to see everyone!
Also, we had our second baby preparation class last weekend on Breastfeeding. Colin was such a trooper. Probably not his favorite reason to wake up early on a Saturday but it was really helpful.

Overall it has been a busy 2 weeks and I don't think it will be slowing down much this month. Hopefully that means time will go by quick and baby will be here before we know it!
