July

July went super quick with a long beach trip, a little baseball, overnight camp for Carter and back-to-school planning for Avery.  Thankfully mom and dad were able to sneak away for an evening and see the Hella Mega concert.  It was definitely odd to be at a large scale event again after the past 18 months.

Avery (6 years, 11 months) - Avery is a ball of energy who is always very interested in what her brothers are doing, playing Roblox and hanging with her friends.  With school starting the first week of August she spent the end of July sleeping in, going to the pool and taking advantage of the last few weeks of summer.

Parker (9 years, 8 months) - When we got back from the beach we had one last baseball tournament for Parker's All Star team.  They played really well on Saturday and were in first place going into the bracket round on Sunday.  Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate overnight so all Sunday games were canceled.  But they went ahead and declared Parker's team the "World Series Champions" and they all got a ring to prove it.  Not necessarily the way you want a season to end but it was such a fun experience with this group of boys and we only have a few weeks before next season begins!

When not playing baseball, Parker has been very interested in coming up with various businesses to raise money including selling lemonade and popsicles at the pool.  He is actively looking for ideas to implement this Fall.

Carter (11 years, 2 months) - Carter has a big first this month with his first trip to overnight camp.  He along with a dozen or so members of his scout troop went to Camp Woodruff for the week.  The braved the hot and wet July weather and completed some merit badges and activities for his first few Boy Scout ranks.  His tent mate was his BF Carter Wrigley and they signed up for all the same activities.  He made it through the week with more clean clothes than he should have but he had a fun time and it was good to see him do something outside his comfort zone.

Siblings - The kids love each other and fight with each other but they can't stay apart for long!

Sullivan's Island

We also fit in a visit to Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, the oldest public garden in America.  The 450 acre property has a various gardens, petting zoo, planation house, lots of walking/biking paths, swamp tour, slavery tour and more.  The gardens are mainly romantic style and feature beautiful vistas and wildlife to enjoy.
