Colin's first visit to Timbers

Avery (9 years, 7 months) - Avery  had a great month wrapping up volleyball, starting soccer (when it wasn't raining) and staying busy with friends and activities at the house. She is having a great semester at school too.

He is also fitting in time with his travel team when they can. He had a great trombone performance with the 6th grade band though he has decided to stop band after this year to try some other opportunities.

Carter (13 years, 10 months) - Carter is playing Juniors baseball again this Spring and is excited to be on a team with his friend Carter from school and several others from past seasons. He is also running track and while not the fastest enjoys spending time with his friends who compete as well.

Universal and Islands of Adventure

After three fun days at the park at Disney World, we packed up our things and headed to the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Studios Orlando for more fun with biggest thrills!

Like Avery, both boys found the new Jurassic World VelociCoaster to be a big hit.  Dad agrees!

While the boys are older now and the "magic" is gone, they still really seem to enjoy the parks and the theming (Disney World included) in a more adult manner of amusement.  Harry Potter lands (Hogsmeade and Knockturn Alley) are both amazingly detailed and interactive.

While there, we were at the back end of the Mardi Gras celebration at Universal.  This has definitely grown since last time when Dad and Carter last manned a float in the parade.  This time the boys could have again been in the parade, but decided to enjoy this one from the curb.

Their bead catching abilities were topped by none around us!

Outside the parks is Universal's City Walk with lots of fun restaurants.  We ended up getting a table at the Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen.  The food was good, but the shakes and desserts were even better!

We were able to sneak in two days at the parks which made sure we were able to ride every ride (Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure included - Front Row!!!).

and as always found time to say hi to the Doc!

The boys also enjoyed Simpson's Land a bit  more now that they have actually taken the time to watch some episodes and understand the characters and humor a bit more.  Not to mention the huge donuts from Lard Lad Donuts.

We capped off our time with some mini-golf at CityWalk and spent a bit of time at the pool at the Hard Rock Hotel (the pool has underwater speakers to make sure the music experience never stops!).

It was unfortunately then time to head back to the ATL after a fun week in the sun in Orlando to return to the daily grind of work and school.
