January

January was cold and dark but some real snow brought some winter fun. And the month passed quick with kids sports taking up most weekends.

Celebration for those who went to the gym too much last year ;)

Avery (10 years, 5 months) - The highlight of Avery's month was being inducted into Beta Club. She has had a great academic year so far and was very proud to earn this! She continues to love basketball and playing video games.

Avery set up her only hangout area during renovations

Parker (13 years, 2 months) - Parker wrapped up the middle school wrestling season. He will miss hanging out with friends after school everyday and being with the team but he is happy to take a break from competing for a bit. Being on the mat with all eyes on him, isn't his favorite activity. He is looking forward to baseball picking back up soon!

Carter (14 years, 8 months) - Carter fit in a few other activities but wrestling was the main focus for January. He had several tournaments, extra workouts and was selected to join the Varsity team for the state Team Dual meet. He ended up wrestling in the final round but unfortunately Lovett came in second place, losing on tie breakers after tying the Championship Dual. It was a sad outcome but such a great experience for Carter. He will take a break from wrestling for a bit with baseball and track seasons starting.

Snow Day

We had a rare major snow storm hit early January with 2-3" sticking in our yard. Everything was cancelled and we spent several days enjoying the white stuff and staying warm by the fire. The kids had a lot of fun sledding with friends and making snowmen and stayed out until they were too wet. Thankfully there were no issues with power or roads this time!
