4th of July - Sullivan's Island

The 4th of July started off super special for the boys because Uncle Reid was in town at Sullivan's Island.  Carter was so excited to see him, he insisted on waking him up and making him play with him.
Meanwhile Parker was dressed in his July 4th finest and ready to hit up the parade!
Luckily our golf cart was all dressed up and ready to go!
It even had some cute drivers ;)
After a few group shots...
We were off and ready to go.  There were a ton of other golf carts there.
Loved the Woody!
They even had a grand marshal.
After the National Anthem, we loaded up the cart.
Carter was so excited to be in the parade especially that all these people came out to see him.  He waved his flag at everyone especially these two crazy people!
The parade ended at the Fish Fry shack where we had ice cream, water melon and Mimosas.
Carter also made some new friends.
But soon it was time to head home.
We took a few last family pictures.
Carter put on a 4th of July concert...
And we said our Good-Byes...
Before hitting the road for our next Vacation destination.  A Big "Thank You" to Pops and Emme for having us this week.  We had a great time and will definitely be back again soon!

Sullivan' Island - Day 5

The weather looked nice this morning so we took a trip to Shem Creek to watch the boats and play on the boardwalk.  After checking out this crazy Pelican statue made of recycled objects...
The boys were off on their nature walk!
We took our time checking out the scenery...
Including the insane number of little crabs running around.
Carter even got dad to catch one in his bucket for him (we let it go shortly afterwards).
Soon the little guys wanted to go check out the boats.  Carter tried to convince us he was a shrimper so he should be allowed on this dock.
We made our way to a different dock where the boys watched the kayaks, paddle boarders, boats and even a dolphin!
For lunch, Carter wanted to watch the boats again so we headed to the Isle of Palms Marina.  Numerous boats were coming in and out the whole time.  He was memorized the entire meal.
After naps we decorated our golf cart (more pictures on that later) and headed out for dinner.  Parker has had a blast all week with the attention from Pops and Emme and dinner was no exception.
Uncle Reid was coming in this evening so we moved the boys into the same room.  They each got a bedtime story before laying down (Carter made dad move his crib next to Parker's so he could tell him to ssh if he made noise).
It was the boys first time sleeping in the same room and they did great!

Sullivan' Island - Day 4

Weatherman dad called for rain this morning so we headed to the Charleston Children's museum.  Carter had been begging to go to the museum since we arrived.  The boys started in the castle room where Carter wanted to dress up like a knight.
Showing off his scary Knight face.
He tried to get Parker to play too but, P wasn't having it.
We spend a few hours exploring the museum.
Playing bean bag toss
Splashing in the water fall
Playing in the water room.  We had to drag them away from here - twice!
Shopping for lunch food
Checking out
We stopped for lunch at a restaurant overlooking the harbor and headed home for naps.
All the boys woke up in a playful mood...
So we took a ride over to check out Ft. Moultrie.
We also took a quick walk on the beach where Carter spotted a Jelly Fish.
After dinner, the boys had a blast in the bath before we called it a night.

Sullivan' Island - Day 3

Dad checked the radar this morning and said it was all clear until lunch so we headed for the beach (he claims weather.com backed him up on this prediction).  Parker wasn't too sure about the water at first.
Or the sand...
But Carter dove right in and worked on making a pool for himself.
Parker eventually warmed up and starting helping big brother with his project.
After a few quick sprinkles, the boys were a little wet and decided that playing in the water was more fun.  Carter and dad searched for seashells.
And splashed around.
Parker preferred sitting in dad's lap.
Soon a giant rain cloud started forming so we decided weatherman dad needed a new job.  We quickly packed up and ran to the golf cart right as the sky opened up!  When we got home, Pops got the boys warmed up on the couch.
We had a low key afternoon and prepared for our evening pool party.  Pops and Emme invited some friends and their grandchildren over to swim and have dinner.  The boys splashed around in the pool while Carter tried to keep up with the 6 and 8 year old boys and dad engaged them in a water fight.
Carter ate dinner on the porch with the big kids (ages 5,6,7,8) all by himself.  He liked hanging with the older kids while baby Parker had to stay inside with the parents.  It was a nice night and again then boys crashed hard at bed time.
