The boys are big golf fans (the miniature version) and begged mom and dad from the moment we landed at the beach to go golfing. Pops joined and he and dad had a battle for the best golfer. The boys had their own battle but it involved lots of questionable golf moves and magical hole in ones!

Sullivans Island - Fourth of July
We continued our annual tradition of taking the family to Sullivan's Island for the 4th of July and this year we had a large crew - Pops, Emme, Uncle Reido, Aunt Shea, Aunt B, Uncle C and Cousin Wren. For the fourth we put on our red, white and blue best!
And decorated the golf carts for the annual Island golf cart parade. We went with one golf cart in a traditional patriotic theme and the second with a 4th at the beach theme.
The parade lined up at the recently rebuilt Sullivan's Island Elementary school. There were a ton of golf carts and some really incredible ones.
Carter and Uncle Reido were in the backseat on candy duty for us. Carter loves being in the parade!
Back at the house we spend the afternoon taking some fun pictures and enjoying the pool before dinner.
However, our lazy Saturday was interrupted by heading down to the beach for Salute to the Shore (annual military flyover of the beach). The boys had a blast splashing in the water while waiting for the planes to fly by.

Parker wanted to ride with Aunt B and preferred to wave his flag at everyone.
After the parade, we headed to the fish fry shack for watermelon, cup cakes, shaved ice and arts and crafts (aka tattoos for the Holden boys).Back at the house we spend the afternoon taking some fun pictures and enjoying the pool before dinner.

After dinner, we hit up the local ice cream store and then watched fireworks from the front yard and on golf carts.
It was a great day to celebrate family and the wonderful opportunities our life gives us. Happy 4th everyone!

Avery - 11 Months
So crazy that Avery has been in our family for almost a year. At 11 months she is definitely a presence in the house. She loves to talk (Mama, dada, baba) and laugh with her family. Her brothers are her best friends and she soaks up their never ending hugs, kisses and laughter.
On the development front, she loves to stand and walk (holding on to fingers). She will cruise on furniture and gravitate to anything she can stand up with. She has two teeth with a few more on the way. We have moved to 12 month clothes and size 4 diapers. Despite a brief virus this month she is in the 90th percentile for weight so 18 month clothes are coming soon!
Her favorite toys are anything she can put in her mouth to chew on,books with flaps and baby faces and balls. She took a break from food while sick but is typically taking 3 meals, 2 snacks and 5 bottles a day. She still loves all food and prefers to feed herself.
She is just adorable and we can't get enough Avery!
