4th of July - Golf Cart Parade

Despite the rainy morning we decided no 4th of July at Sullivan's is complete without participating in the annual Golf Cart parade.  We went with a gaudy 4th of July theme with some pool floats added for effect ;)  It rained as soon as we got to the starting line and broke long enough to get started but then rained again during the parade.  Thankfully it cleared up for the after party where we enjoyed Kona Ice, cookies, watermelon, 4th of July treats and a good hosing down from the fire department.

Visitors to Sullivans Island

After a few days, the Gomex family joined us to celebrate the 4th.  The kids were so excited to have friends come join them! 

We made several trips to the Marsh where we were quite successful thanks to the new Herring bait.  We actually caught too many crabs to eat each day!

We spent lots of time at the pool, beach, candy shop and driving anywhere the golf cart could take us.

And we even fit in something "cultural" with a trip to Fort Moultrie where the kids all completed the Junior Ranger program.

We had such a good time at the beach earlier this summer that we decided to go back.  Mom and the kids went down first for a few days before dad was able to join at the end of the week.  We took full advantage of the island with trips to the beach, marsh, pool, Fort Moultrie, restaurants, battery, candy store, park, crabbing and lots of ice cream!
