PDK Airshow

Despite some gloomy weather, we decided to take the boys to their first air show.  We got there before the planes started and took some time to check out the service vehicles.  Carter had to stop at each one to ask several questions.  The bomb squad and fire rescue vehicle were of particular interest.

Then we grabbed some lunch, let the boys each pic out an airplane toy and met up with the Whitney's to watch the show.  I'm not sure we understood all the details of the maneuvers the announcer was describing but the kids had a great time watching.

Mother's Day

The boys started off Mother's Day with a yummy breakfast and lots of homemade gifts.  The boys worked very hard on their creations are we so proud of them.

After breakfast, the boys decided to take mom to the zoo.  They had several fun Mother's Day events planned which we checked out between the normal exhibits.  We started by watching the lions get fed.   The cubs are pretty cute.

And then we checked out the Orangutan event where they had a birthday party for a mom including a birthday cake and presents.  And cookies for the kids.

We grabbed lunch and then hit the kid's area including the petting zoo...

Then we took a quick bus ride to Disney World.

And went back to feed the Parakeets.

Then we headed home for naps and mom and dad grabbed dinner while Mimi watched the boys.  What a great Mother's Day!

Down of the Farm: Party Friends

A special shout out to all our wonderful friends who made the trip to the farm for Carter's party.  And of course lots of appreciation to Mimi for helping the day go so smoothly!  Here are a few pictures of some of our fabulous party guests.

Down on the Farm: Carter's Birthday Party... Part 2

After animals, the kids all headed into the Art Barn for an art project.

The barn is decorated with art, supplies, kitchy crafts and information on Farmer Sue and the property.

The art project was watercolor painting and Carter picked a pig for everyone to paint.

Farmer Sue directed everyone on proper painting technique and how to make the pig.

The final products turned out pretty cute.

Then it was back to the tractor for another ride while we cleaned up the barn for lunch and cake.

After a pizza lunch, we broke out the cake.  Carter had selected a tractor pull apart cupcake cake.

He had no problems with the candles (all four of them!).

After cake, it was time to head home.  After some final animal hugs...

Once the guests were gone, Carter and Parker got to feed the pigs our lunch leftovers.

Soon it was time to head back to the city.  It was a great party... the kids all had a blast and the adults were entertained as well.  Farmer Sue was fabulous with keeping up with a bunch of crazy 4 year olds.  It was definitely smiles all around!
