The boys woke up in the best mood this morning....
Yes it was getting closer to Christmas but they were extra happy because Baby Wren was here!
The boys had a few minutes of playtime before we headed to an early morning church service. We chose the Young Family service and it was perfect. The service includes a live Nativity scene which captivated Parker..
And Carter who chose a seat as close to the animals as he could get.
The boys enjoyed the service though Carter was upset when King Herod didn't die (they have been reading the Christmas story in school all month). Afterwards, the boys enjoyed checking out some of the animals.
After some shopping, lunch and naps, we headed to Mimi's house for Christmas Eve dinner and presents. The boys were surprised by their new dinosaur train table at Mimi's.
Carter also roped a few family members into playing his favorite board game.
After dinner, it was time for presents... someone was excited!
Parker was really into opening gifts. He loved tearing the paper and got a little testy when told a present wasn't his to unwrap.
Here are some pictures from the rest of the present opening.

Uncle Reido's favorite present - a speeding ticket being paid (turns out it may not have been his ticket) |

Carter wanted to perform some songs after dinner so of course Parker wanted to join in as back-up. Up first was "We Wish You A Merry Christmas". |
|
Followed by "Jingle Bells" |

Then ABCs, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and a few others. Carter took the performance very seriously! |

Parker's favorite gift - his lollipop! |

Wrapping Paper Wren |
After Mimi's house, we headed home for bed but there were a few last minutes preparations. First the boys had to put out food for the reindeer.
And then milk, cookies and a letter for Santa.
Hopefully the jolly man appreciates their effort and leaves a little something in return ;)
