Busy Weekend

Our first weekend of August was an incredibly busy one.  It started with Carter's first slumber party on Friday night.  His best friends at school had their last day before they started Kindergarten so Jake
had their group of three best friends (Carter, Jake, Andre, and Finn) over to celebrate.  They went bowling, had pizza, rode bikes, made smores and slept in a tent at Jake's house.  Carter had a blast and didn't call home once.  He is going to miss these guys as they all start school together (they are zoned for a different school) =(  Fortunately we have Fall Soccer ahead to keep them all together.

After we picked Carter up/dragged him away, we headed to a local garden for Family Fun Day.  We checked out lots of plants (anyone know what Qunioa looks like?), the boys ate bugs (chocolate covered crickets), made dirt and we took a family hike.

The boys earned "I ate a Bug" stickers for their chocolate cricket consumption.

After cleaning up, we headed to the Gomez house for Smyrna's Birthday Celebration.  There was yummy food, lots of kids, glow sticks and fire works.  Avery even got into the spirit and let Andre turn her into a decoration!
