Fall Break in Chattanooga - Day 2

Day two in Chattnooga was planned to head just outside the city to Lookout Mountain.  After a quick breakfast we caught once of the first tours at Ruby Falls.  It was still very foggy out so we figured we'd head underground and let everything burn off.  Ruby Falls is a guided tour through a cave in the heart of Lookout Mountain which includes a giant cavern waterfall.  The rock formations were really cool and the boys were excited about the cave.

Avery got very excited about walking during the weekend.  Mom and dad's backs weren't as excited.
Ruby Falls
After Ruby Falls, we headed down the mountain to catch the incline railroad up to the peak.  Talking with the car conductor, it appeared we had the same conductor as when Dad took a ride with Oma and Opa over 25 years ago.  The inverted clouds, which caused the fog, were still hanging around but disappeared as soon as we got to the top.  We grabbed food and had a picnic lunch at Point Park.  The views were gorgeous and being a National Park, Carter was able/insistent to complete the Jr Ranger program.
Parker wanted to pick mom some flowers but thankfully settled on a picture instead

After heading back down the mountain, we drove to the other end to visit Rock City.  It was a gorgeous day out and the kids loved the fresh air.  The views were gorgeous though the heights and two rambunctious children gave mom fits, especially when near a cliff overlook (of which there were many).  Parker loved the swinging bridge and both kids loved the raptor show and Mother Goose village.

After a full day, we were famished so we grabbed a BBQ dinner before grabbing ice cream, riding the carousel and enjoying one last sunset.
