Carter would definitely say the highlight of his month was the 3rd grade trip to the Capital. Probably because mom got to chaperone but more likely because they all went to the Varsity afterwards for lunch. He was also super excited when Ovie Mughelli, a former Atlanta Falcon, came to speak about his new comic book, Gridiron Green. In normal school stuff, Carter still loves math and science and has been getting very into social studies. He was so excited to introduce mom to a song they have been listening to called "I'm Just a Bill". Little did he know mom already had it on CD.
Parker thinks school is the best thing ever and regularly gives enthusiastic "awesome" and "great" responses along with a fist pump when asked how his day was. It's hard to keep track of what his favorite subject is because he seems excited about something new each week. His favorite monthly activities were the field trip to Southern Belle farm, making a kazoo in science glass and working on a poem with hid friend Marian. One funny story - when mom was volunteering in his classroom one day, Catherine came up to tell me that she asked Parker to be her boyfriend but Parker said "no". Thankfully she said she still wanted to be his friend.
Avery also had a fun month at school. She did two round of school pictures due to messing up her initial outfit before picture time. She got to bring her Spanish class' doll home for a weekend which is a big deal for the PreK kids. And she continues to love her after school cooking class. Highlights for the month were definitely Mimi and Carter being her Mystery Reader and dad coming to carve a pumpkin for the class.
