Between birthdays, school starting and a trip August was already fairly busy but we managed to fit some more fun in.
Avery (5 years) - Avery started softball this month as a 6U Purple Pixie. Her team is all girls from our neighborhood and mom is helping as a coach. The girls started the season with a double header in the middle of the day but the team made it through the heat and did great! Other than that we had had lots of play dates, reignited our love of snapchat, got a clean bill of health from the dentist and took regular naps to recover from everything!
Parker (7 years, 9 months) - Parker started baseball this month and is enjoying playing with a bunch of neighborhood friends again. He also finally lost his last canine tooth which was literally hanging sideways for about a week. And he has become a little too obsessed with Fortnight which thankfully we have stopped since school is back in session. He and dad also had a fun date night at Andretti's.
Carter (9 years, 3 months) - Poor Carter reminded us all summer that he never got to pick a restaurant for a family birthday dinner so we finally found a time to go. He choose Hibachi with a sushi appetizer. Carter also started ALL the fall sports playing on 3 teams: rec league baseball, flag football and travel baseball. No free time for this kid but he is sleeping well at night! His fun activities of the month were a trip to see the Tour Championship and watching the Dragoncon Parade with dad.
Siblings - We were able to get a few cute pictures of the kiddos!

August at School
Carter has been working very hard so far in fourth grade. Definitely more homework and higher expectations than the past but so far he is doing a great job and really enjoying his teachers/classmates. His class each had to pick 3 core values they are going to keep focused on during the year and tape them to their desks. Carter was very proud of his choices.
Parker has been having a great time in second grade. Math continues to be his favorite subject but he is really enjoying his specials like music, art and science. And he loves being able to play on the big playground this year.
Avery has been really enjoying Kindergarten. The whole grade started the year celebrating colors so they wore different color outfits each day for two weeks. Kindergarten also had a parade to celebrate community helpers where each child dressed up like a community helper and they paraded around the school. Avery chose to be a firefighter. In terms of school work, she has been working hard on hand-writing and sight words.
