August brings all the back to school and start of Fall activities. But we fit in some adult fun too. Mom had a fun dinner with some neighbors to celebrate a book challenge we completed. Mom and Dad finished our Pickleball season. Dad ran a hilly local 5k went to Sunday at the Tour Championship.
Avery (9 years) - Fourth grade is a big adjustment with real grades and weekly tests/quizzes but so far Avery is doing well. Studying isn't her favorite but has become a necessity with 3-4 tests/quizzes a week. She loves to be involved at school and is once again a Learning Commons Leader, showing up early once a week to help in the library. She and dad made the early morning dad's club meeting and she has joined the Environmental Club. She is also now a big kid who meets her friend on the corner in morning to walk to school. Outside of school, she is playing soccer again this Fall with a bunch of the same kids as last year.

Parker (11 years, 9 months) - It's Parker's last year of "traditional" Little League baseball so he decided one last Fall season was in order. He is on the Hot Rods and playing for a the same coach Carter has his last season of Majors (and a good friend). Not one to shy away from coaching, dad is an assistant coach.
Due to baseball, Parker couldn't go to summer camp with his Boy Scout troop so he and dad attended a camping weekend for first year scouts. It was incredibly hot and Parker knew basically no one but he had learned somethings and stepped up as a leader within his patrol with a level on confidence we didn't know he had.
Carter (13 years, 3 months) - After experiencing a year of full travel baseball, Carter decided he would rather play on a team with less time commitment and signed up for the Juniors program with Smyrna Little League on the Red Wings. He knows a bunch of the kids playing, his coach is one of our neighbors and dad is an assistant coach. So far he has really enjoyed it!
