February

While a short month, February is always a fun one with mom's birthday, Valentine's Day, winter break and the changing of sports seasons. We also fit in an adults night to Lovett's bi-annual auction and dinner with friends.

Avery (9 years, 6 months) - Avery wrapped up her Volleyball and Basketball seasons this month. She had fun with the girls on the volleyball team but not sure if this will be her sport as she definitely preferred basketball. She likes playing defense especially when she gets to guard a friend! Things are going well at school and she continues to enjoy her teacher and classmates.

She made her own Valentine's Day box
Wearing all the Savannah Bananas gear for favorite sports team day
Excited for Dad's club breakfast
Going through a cooking phase

Parker (12 years, 3 months) - Parker wrapped up wrestling and basketball seasons and really enjoyed both of them! He is planning to wrestle next year and has started recruiting friends to join him. Sadly, he has aged out of our church league basketball program so he has likely hung up his basketball shoes. This likely makes dad sadder than Parker as basketball was his favorite sport growing up and he has loved coaching it with the boys. But baseball season has already started back so no down time for Parker! Parker is also continuing with boy scouts making great progress toward his Eagle badge and enjoys spending time with friends whenever his extracurricular schedule allows.

Carter (13 years, 9 months) - Carter wrapped up wrestling and started track at school and baseball in Smyrna. He is looking forward to both sports as he gets to hang out with friends. Carter has also started doing lots of prep work for high school including starting his 4 year class plan, shadowing current students and applying for classes for next year. There is a lot of information but he is on top of all of it and excited to see what next year will bring.

Siblings - Sweet sibling sports pictures and even a few calm moments at home mean a sushi boat for celebration!

Winter Break - Boat Fun

It may have been a short cruise but we packed a lot of fun in! The adults played trivia daily and hit up the crazy adult game show (Colin may have taken off his pants for the cause). We danced at the silent disco. There was lots of karaoke by everyone but the boys who were likely busy on the sports court. The adults also enjoyed the sports court playing pickleball. There was a giant group ice skating trip. But the highlight was definitely taking advantage of our $3 free plays in the casino. The holdens won $2.50 and the Langemans won $0.10 which they requested to cash out as 2 nickels.

Winter Cruising - Bahamas

We made two stops in the Bahamas, first at Royal's private Island and then in Nassau. We kept things simple, getting off the ship with no specific plans and seeing where the days took us. We spent the day at CoCo Cay between the beach, pool and sports court with stops to shop and snack. In Nassau we hit up the Straw Market, Senior Frogs and a local seafood restaurant. Yumm!
