Once all our summer plans were set, we started looking at options for a family vacation. The kids wanted something active (not beach) so we made a list and ultimately decided on a week in Chicago/Wisconsin. We had a similar trip planned a few years back but Covid canceled it.
We started the trip with 3 days in Chicago. Everyone had something they wanted to do and we were able to fit them all in. We stayed right off the Magnificent Mile so it was an easy walk to many places or a short subway ride.
Highlights from our first day include visiting Starbucks Reserve, walking Michigan Avenue, visiting the Harry Potter store and the Architectural Boat Tour. Later in the week we made the obligatory visit to Millennium Park to see the Bean.
