I walked into Carter's Room...

and look what I found!
We lowered Carter's crib all the way down about a month ago when we realized he had the strength to pull himself up. Since then he has started trying to pull up on all sorts of things but we hadn't seen him trying his crib yet.

Carter was SO proud of himself for his new accomplishment. We smiled from ear to ear and wouldn't stop laughing. It was really precious. He had a lot of fun looking around ans he even enjoyed laughing at all his friends he left behind down on the ground.

Then he realized what the side of his crib was perfect for... teething.

Carter wasn't quite so smooth on the landing. He basically just lets go and falls down. Not very graceful and unfortunately sometimes it elicits a few tears. But Carter wasn't deterred because he proceeded to do it all over again. His little fingers are barely long enough to reach the ledge but once he got them up there off he went!

And then there was more laughter! Carter's new trick sure is a hoot!

Month 8 - Week 3

Carter had a wonderful week. He has taken to his new room with flying colors. He has been trying all sorts of new food including lots of fruits, vegetables and even mashed potatoes! He is really enjoying feeding himself and he's improving his mouth to floor ratio every day. The dog's aren't too thrilled about this development ;)

When he's not sleeping or eating, Carter is moving. He loves walking with his walker... Pulling up on everything....Crawling every where...And getting into everything... especially what isn't his!
Carter had a great week and is excited to see what the rest of his 8th month will bring!

Moving on Up and a New Schedule

Boy were mom and Carter surprised when they got to daycare today. After being gone for almost 2 weeks, they found out Carter was moving up to Crawler Room B. This was a big move as Carter's new room comes with a schedule. Mom was very nervous to see how Carter would do with the change. He is use to napping and eating when he wants so this was a big change. Little did I know there was nothing to worry about! When mom got to school, she was told that Carter was a little prince. He made a big fan of all his new teachers. He even ate some snacks with the rest of the kids... vanilla wafers, fruit and cheerios. There are all sorts of new foods for Carter to try! What a big boy! Our little man is growing up so fast!

Month 8 - Week 2

Out little man is more active than ever! He is exploring everything and constantly moving. He has spent the past week working on pulling up. He really loves to crawl and pull up on mom and dad.
But he will pull up on anything he can get his hands on!And he enjoys exploring everything he can get to.This includes the staircase... which he has also become an expert climber of!
Carter also loves crawling after his two favorite sisters.
And while they aren't too sure about his new found movement and certainly aren't thrilled with his interest in their food and water bowls, they have figured out their favorite aspect of their little brother. He always thinks of them at meal time!
When he isn't climbing or crawling or feeding puppies, Carter loves any other form of movement he can get his hands on. Though all that moving will eventually tire any boy out!Carter is such a sweet, smiley, happy baby.He does have his moments...but we wouldn't trade them for anything! It is so much fun to watch him turn into such a wonderful little man!

Back in Atlanta

Our departure back to Atlanta came a little earlier than expected. Our 12:30pm flight was canceled and we were re-scheduled on the 7:00am flight. This meant a 4:00am departure for the airport thus a 3:00am wake up call. Needless to say it was an early morning.

Luckily we made our shuttle and got to the airport around 4:30am and were able to get on the even earlier 5:30am flight. After landing, picking up Colin's bag (Jordan and Carter's bag is still MIA), braving the cold and making it to our car, we were ready to head home. Unfortunately we needed a while to defrost the car as it was covered with a few inches of snow and ice. Luckily we had 4 blankets to bundle Carter up with and he passed right out.
After a very slow car ride home, we finally got home and our house was completley covered in snow. Luckily GT Gnome was still visable enough to keep an eye on things!

It was a great trip but now the whole family is off to take a nice long nap!

Disney Vacation Day 4 - Epcot

Our last day at the parks was destined to be a long one, but Carter didn't care what was ahead of him, he just wanted to go on a ride. However, we were not all ready to go as early as Carter was so we put him on the washing machine and turned it on.

Carter started confused, but then had a blast as the spin cycles kicked in

Then it was time for some more high flying fun

Not to mention an episode of the Muppets!

After our early morning shenanigans, it was time to head to the parks. This last day we headed to Epcot (we skipped Hollywood Studios as there was very little there that Carter can partake in).

It was another chilly morning, but Carter was having fun watching all the people, but then we stopped at a big fountain and he was transfixed watching the water dance.

We quickly headed to the rides to get our FastPasses and get in lines before they become unmanageable (note that with FastPass available on most rides, a 10min wait becomes annoying as it can easily be avoided). Our first ride was Mission Space, we let Grandma and Grandpa take the first ride while we hung out with Carter in the giftshop. He seemed pretty convinced he wanted to be a future astronaut.

After hitting a few more rides, we started to walk the World Showcase. Colin had remembered seeing a special on Epcot where there were Kim Possible missions throughout the park where you used a cell phone (the Kimmunicator) issued from the park to interact with a number of exhibits. So we were off the UK to save the world from Duff Killigan who was creating a weather machine that would turn the entire globe into one giant golf course! Here is Colin and Grandpa working on a clue being provided from our Kimmunicator.

The telephone booth seemed like a normal booth, but with the Kimmunicator, there was a secret Golf Ball dispenser in it that provided another clue to finding Duff.

After saving the world, we went and rode Imagination! and Carter played with the exhibits after the ride until we had to leave for lunch.

Lunch was in Canada, so off we went!

Carter really enjoyed the Native art and wanted to pose for a totem

For lunch, Aunt Mary recommended Le Cellier, it was a very popular spot and we could only get a 1:40 reservation (even though Grandma made the reservation more the 4 months in advance). While we waited for our table to clear, Carter and Dad watched the ducks play in the Victoria Gardens.

Then off to a fantastic lunch, this was a great recommendation. Jordan's desert (Smores) was also a great hit, not only was is tasty, it also was presented awesomely.

Then on to more rides and attractions. Grandma is working on her driving skills with a 3-D racing game at the base of Spaceship Earth.

Carter practice his walking skills while all others were playing with the new games and technologies on display.

Then we were off to The Land. The Land is a Greenhouse exhibit where Epcot is working to develop more sustainable and productive food production methods. It sounds boring, but was actually an informative and interesting boat ride and Carter loved it watching all the weird plants go by.

Next to The Land is The Seas (really creative names). By now, most all know of Carter's love of Aquariums, and this one was no different. We had a real fun time walking around The Seas and Carter was able to see Manatees for the first time.

Dad's favorite part of The Seas were the sea gulls from Finding Nemo, stationed out in front of the exhibit which were constantly screaming "Mine! Mine!" like the scene from the movie. Then onto more of the park before dinner.

After a long day, we continued our tour of Epcot going to Mexico first. When your in Mexico you have to wear your shades (even if it is dusk according to Carter).

In Mexico we ran into Donald Duck all dressed for a fiesta!

Carter was then taken on a tour around the World Showcase, he really enjoyed the ride smiling the whole way and propping his feet up to relax.

However, the day's fun finally caught up to Carter and he took a small nap before dinner at the Coral Reef restaurant.

After dinner, there was about 20 minutes until the fireworks started and Carter was back in a great mood. So we took him to the character line (which was very short as everyone had either left the park or was fighting for a spot to watch the fireworks).

Carter watched a few Donald Duck cartoons in line and then patiently waited until it was his turn.

Then it was off to see his friends. We first met up with Mickey and Minnie again.

Then we walked (Carter walked to, smiling and giggling the whole way) to see Pluto

Up next was Donald who had lost his Fiesta garb from earlier in the evening. Carter was still a bit hungry and smelled the Peking Duck as we went through China in the World Showcase, so he decided to get a taste of Duck himself and chomped down on Donald's beak!

He quickly realized that duck beak was not very tasty and settled for some fun photos instead.

Then it was on to meet Dad's favorite Character, Goofy.

Goofy and Carter hit it off right away and had some fun time on the floor before it was time to leave

As we left the characters, the firework show started. Carter was not at all bothered by the bangs. Instead he was amazed at the show and could not take his eyes away until it was all over
