Parker was a bit reflective this week as he thought about all that has happened to him over the past 12 months...
He actually spent most of the week being a happy, inquisitive one year old.
He is still working on some new teeth and he has some separation anxiety which makes him clingy at times. But it's hard to be too upset at extra snuggles!
Carter (2 years, 6 months)
Carter is just a character. He loves to have his picture taken or take pictures at times. He especially loves to make movies. He got his own camera from Aunt B, and he has been diligently working on improving his picture taking.
Carter had lots of fun adventures this week including a play date with Charlie, his fist basketball game of the season...
Carter was super lucky because one of his best friend's, Brody, dad is the assistant basketball coach which not only means Carter gets to watch the games with his best friend, but he also gets one of the best seats in the house (row 2 right behind the Georgia Tech bench). When not having pom-pom fights with Brody, he is also very interested in finding Buzz (our school mascot) and pointing our Mr. Josh (Brody's dad).
Carter did great at the game and stayed all the way till the end (a full hour past his bed time) cheering on the Jackets to victory. He was so excited about being at the "basketball house" and has made many requests to return again (not to worry little guy, we have season tickets and will be at many more games to come).
Carter also was very excited to have lunch at dad's work...
and after a fun filled saturday morning of tailgating, he headed home with Parker for some beauty sleep, only to return to the final GT football game of the season. Carter was very proud of himself repeatedly screaming at the field when GT was on defense. He told us that he "stopped em" due to his yelling. Train 'em young!
His favorite activity might be meal time where he insists on helping cook each day. He gets very upset when he realizes food is readied and he has not helped in its preparation. We have had to be very strategic in how we now make dinner to ensure he is able to help, but not to get him involved when heat or knives are in play. He has proven to be a very good runner getting us ingredients, putting our spinach, kale, and other items on baking trays or frying pans prior to actual cooking getting going. If only he was still as excited to clean once we were done...
Brothers
The boys play together pretty well these days. It's fun to sit back and watch them play with the same toy together.
And see them give each other affection. Carter will randomly decide to hug Parker.
Sometimes it's a big more like a strangle hold than a hug but Parker doesn't seem to mind.
The boys have had a blast riding the bat mobile around the house.
Carter enjoys playing "traffic cop" and telling Parker when he can go and stop. Most days, frequent shouts of "red light stop" and "green light go" can be heard throughout the house.
Parker loves to feed everyone food and Carter has reciprocated by showing an interest in feeding Parker. He is also really good at sharing his food with Parker, including his milk.
While both continue to play independently, both are also growing more and more fond of each other and like to play with each other. Parker is really starting to love having Parker around and is constantly following him or trying to get Carter to chase him on all fours. It can lead to a lot of giggles (and animals running for cover).
