We got there a little early so Carter could check out the earlier class and get comfortable with the new setting.
Soon it was time for the Beast class. The kids started with an obstacle course. Carter did pretty well following the other kids...
But he soon spotted something he could climb on across the room so he took off to check it out.
Then the teacher blew up the jumpy mat so Carter ran back to try it out.
The there was free time so Carter took advantage and checked out all the equipment: parallel bars...
low balance beam...
and high balance beam (he actually balanced on his own and just held dad's fingers for support a few times).
Then Carter practiced a few new tumbling skills: log rolls...

Carter's favorite part of class was next when Ms Corey pulled out a giant tub of balls for the kids to play with. Here is a picture of Carter making his first unassisted catch!
After balls, class wound down with another of Carter's favorites... bubbles! He seemed to have a great time. And surprising to us, we wasn't one of the most hyper kids in class! We'll see how that changes in subsequent weeks ;)
