After lunch and drying off, we had a private tour to a local Sloth Sanctuary. Our guide took us around town to look for some sloths in the wild. We found several including one he hadn't seen before so he let mom name it Jordan. We then went to the sanctuary which is a guide-required, protected farm where a local family has bought land where a number of sloths naturally live to prevent development or erosion of their habitat. The sloths are able to come and go from the land as the space is on a natural corridor for their movement around the area. We ended up seeing around a dozen sloths including several mom/baby pairs, various frogs and birds. Avery was the leader in spotting sloths and Carter enjoyed practicing some new photography skills he worked on in Ecuador.
