After La Fortuna, we took a van ride to the Lake Arenal marina for a ferry ride across the lake to get on another van to make the drive to Monteverde in the Costa Rican rain forest.

In Monteverde, we stayed at Cloud Forest Lodge, an eco-lodge high on a hill with a fabulous restaurant and several activities on site. After checking in and dropping off our bags, we enjoyed a late lunch entertained by hummingbird visitors, took in the views from top of the restaurant and then tried a few of the hiking trails around the property. We ate many meals at the restaurant and enjoyed the ski lodge ambiance for relaxing.
