12 Week Old Movie Star

We have taken several videos of Carter but I didn't really think about putting them on the blog. So I figured I would start in celebration of Carter being 12 weeks old. So here is a video of Carter and dad's latest game... Flying Carter.

Eleven Weeks Old

Our little guys is growing up quick! Here are a few pictures of him from the past week.

We briefly tried out Carter's jumper for the first time. He has really good head control for his age so we figured we would give it a go. He wasn't too sure about it, but he looked pretty cute.
We also used his bumbo chair a little bit more. Carter likes sitting on the couch with dad like a big boy.

He also had fun "chatting" with dad. He's not sure why talking involves dad moving his mouth for him but he thinks it is quite funny.

He also spent some time hanging out with mom. He still loves chewing on the back of his hand (the right is yummier than the left).
Though he was eyeing these yummy cookies his friend Kristen made for him!And of course there was lots of sleeping...
Overall it was a great week!

Meeting Great-Grandma

The Holden family spent a rainy Sunday driving to Montevallo, Alabama and back so Carter could meet Great-Grandma Scott. As usual, Carter was a doll in the car. He spend quite sometime practicing his smile for "GG".

He was excited to see that they built a sign just for the occasion to welcome him to Alabama.

Carter had a great time and can't wait to come back when he can ride the tractor and terrorize the cows!

Carter in the AM

Mornings have become my favorite time of day because Carter is such a doll when he wakes up. He loves to smile and giggle while I'm getting him ready. I took a few pictures this morning before we ran out the door.

I love that big grin at the end! It makes waking up much easier!

Carter's Weekly Update

I figured I would start to phase out Carter's weekly updates but he had such a good week that I couldn't stop now. Here are some of the highlights:
- Smiling on a daily basis

- Recognizes mom and dad's face and voice

- Sleeping 6-7 hours a night

- "Talking" up a storm
- Eating his hands
- Addicted to his Red Dog

- More expressive than ever!

2 Month Check-Up

Carter had his 2 month check-up today and everything looks great!

Here are his stats:
Weight: 11 lbs 12 oz (50th percentile)
Length: 21-1/4" (25th percentile)
Head Circumference: 39-1/2 cm (45th percentile)

He got his first round of vaccinations and was a champ. He sucked down the entire Rotateq without any help and cried for 10 seconds after the shots (3 of them!). And as soon as he got in the car seat, he went right to sleep.

This could mean a long evening for mom and dad but that's ok!

Fine at Nine

Carter hit 9 weeks today and is a fine looking nine week old if I say so myself =) As you have seen from my previous posts, we had a lot going on. So here are a few pictures that didn't make the blog yet.

Carter continues to show up new things each week. His facial expressions keep his parents entertained, like the one below.

He still has a great appetite which has led to adorable baby fat rolls.

Carter is spending more time awake and is very curious about the world around him. He is still enthralled by the light and will only sit in his bouncy when it is facing the window so he can look outside.
He also likes to play games with dad, though I'm not to sure the one below was one of his favorites.
Madie is still protective of her little man. She likes to give him a bath whenever she can.
We have been working to start a bedtime routine for Carter which includes reading him a book each night. Dad likes to take this responsibility. It seems to me working well because Carter had his first 6 hour stretch this week. It isn't a constant thing yet but mom and dad are hoping that happens soon.

First Day Back at Work

I survived my first day at work and Carter made it the whole day at daycare. We were all smiles in the morning before we left home.

Carter took a quick cat nap in the car on the way over. He was a little drosy when mom woke him up to go inside.

After4 diapers changes and 4 bottles, Carter was worn out when he got home. He held his red dog and passed out in mom's arms.
When we got home, Dad decided to make cookies to celebrate mom and Carter's good days.

Yum!

A Holden Family Outing

The entire family (minus Morgan) went to the park today. It was our first outing with Carter and the dogs. Here are a few pictures of the fun!

Carter on the way to Piedmont Park. He wasn't quite sure what was going on with the dogs in the car.

Colin used his Ergo carrier to transport Carter around the lake. Madie made it 75% of the way before she required dad to carry her.

Carter on the way home showing off his cool sun hat. He had a great time and was confused as to why we were already leaving.

Happy Birthday Carter and USA

Carter turned 2 months old today and was so excited that everyone else wanted to celebrate with cool fireworks and they made special clothes for the occasion. Dad wanted to make sure his son was prepared so he bought him these cool noise protection headphones. Carter wasn't so sure about them but he figured if they meant he could see a cool light display, he was in!

To celebrate his birthday, Carter got mom and dad the best present. He officially slept through the night! In baby world, this means 6 hours of sleep (not sure that is the same in mom and dad world but we will take it). We put him down at 9:15 and mom got him up at 3:50. It was quite the evening - thank you to the Whitney's for helping us wear him out!

Carter's last month has been great. No more apnea monitor, he is growing like a weed, every week brings a new developmental milestone and he is more active than ever. He is a joy for his parents and we are so excited about what the next months and years will bring!

Happy 4th everyone!
