March

March's highlight is always dad's birthday.  Happy Birthday dad!

Welcome to Smyrna, Atlanta Braves!  Dad had fun showing mom around the stadium he built at exhibition game.

Avery (2 years, 7 months) is a complete handful (in a wonderful way).  We are working on sharing, not hitting and being nice to our friends at school.  She is so strong willed and knows how to push for what she wants.  Avery is still very into clothes and loves to pick out her daily outfit.  She has loved the warmer weather recently and wants to spend most of her time outside.

Parker (5 years, 4 months) started soccer this month and has really taken to it.  He has scored goals in each game including 5 in his last one.  He does still shed tears when someone bumps him (he definitely falls down more than any other child) but he enjoys it and seeming him smile after he scores a goal is awesome.  Parker was also accepted to Lovett for Kindergarten next year.  Carter is super excited to have him join the Lovett family!

Carter (6 years, 10 months) headed back to the baseball diamond this spring after several seasons off.  He seems to have finally conquered his fear of the pitching machine which is a relief.  He is playing with several friends from his neighborhood.  Go Dodgers!  Carter and dad also had a fun adventure on dad's birthday to the Zoo with Carter's cub scout troop.  They spent the night which didn't provide much actual sleep for dad!  Carter spend a few days with a brain doctor this month (which he loved).  He was diagnosed with ADHD and Dyslexia.  We are working through treatment plans and Carter has been great with it all!

March at School

Carter's school pictures are dwindling as he spend his time working hard.  March was definitely an academic focused month with lots of work in math (starting geometry), reading (wrapping up their non-fiction unit) and writing (argument writing).  His class got to spend timer in the makers lab and they built a shark.  Carter's team did the back and he designed the zip line.

Parker's class got some new members this month when they incubated, hatched and took care of three baby ducklings (the ducks have now moved to a teacher's farm).  Other highlights included Parker winning a Math Bingo tournament, STEAM projects on Fun Friday, planting Spring flowers, a naughty leprechaun visiting their class, Mimi reading to the class and lots of fun outdoor time.

Starting the morning with 4 hugs.  Each class member has to pick 4 people to hug.

Avery's fun month started with Reading Week where Mimi got to come read to her class.  She also made a plethora of art (apparently this is her center of choice).
