January

Carter (6 years, 8 months) - Carter had his first pinewood derby event this year and was super excited (almost as excited as dad).  He won 2 of his 3 races with his red eagle car.  Basketball season is in full swing and going well.  Carter has fun playing (especially on the defensive end) and really enjoys spending time with his friends.

Parker (5 years, 2 months) - Despite some hesitation to start, Parker has done a great job with his basketball team.  He is definitely defensive focused and has been playing hard and having fun.  He is quite the social child at school and has been planning an epic sleepover for all his friends at our house (not sure that is really happening).
Parker wrote Blue Bear a letter.  Parker and blue bear are driving cars to their house while a bird is flying overhead.

Awesome basketball game = donuts
Dad tradition - celebrating a trip to the dentist with donuts

Avery (2 years, 5 months) - Avery continues to be quite the opinionated dresser.  Princess dresses are her current favorite but we are sure that will change any day.  We are working hard on her being a nice friend skills as she seems to have picked up wrestling as an acceptable behavior from her brothers.  She is still obsessed with Frozen and can almost sing "Let It Go" all by herself.

January at School

Avery had a fun month at school doing her usual activities - art, playground time, music and lots of silly play.  She has taken her strong fashion sense to school and will often insist on wearing hat, Minnie ears, necklaces, etc.

Parker's curriculum this month focused on transportation (water, land, air and space).  So the class spent lots of time building and playing in their rocket ship.  Parker has also become quite fond of the computer and picks that for his center time whenever he can.
Show and Share - Parker brought in a yellow car for land transportation
Falcons spirit day - with some Green Bay flair added in for dad

Carter's highlights from school this month included lots of Falcons celebrations, talking to a Lovett alum who happened to be on the International Space Station and the Chinese New Year parade.  The parade is a special event for the First grade.  Carter has been going to Chinese class for the past few months and mid-way through their lessons, they put on a parade for the whole Lower School.  Each first grade class gets to design a dragon and walk with it in the parade for the whole Lower School.
