June

June has been a wonderful lazy month!  We had a little vacation, a little camp and lots of time at the pool.  Mom and dad also snuck in a date night (Happy Father's Day!) and mom had a girls night (Karaoke!).  Otherwise we enjoyed the perfect combination of being lazy around our neighborhood and venturing out to take advantage of all Atlanta has to offer.

Carter (8 years, 1 month) - June was all about golf for Carter.  He started play with his golf team and has really enjoyed it!  Dad has been an excellent bag boy and enjoyed at least getting to see some new courses.  Carter plays in pairs with a scramble format for 9 holes.  The winner of every 3 holes gets a flag and the team with the most flags after 8 wins (3 hole ties give 1/2 a flag).  He is the youngest kid on the team but he hasn't let that stop him.
Post match celebratory dinner - first time ordering salad at a restaurant!

Parker (6 years, 7 months) - Sweet Parker has been scarce at the house this month.  His typical day involves taking off to ride around the neighborhood/find friends as soon as breakfast is over, run in to get a quick lunch to go and only finally come home when mom/dad tell him its dinner time.  He is super tan and his hair had turned blond but he's loving summer!  He loves playing any sport with his friends and taking afternoon dips in the pool.  He is also our animal lover and has been taking Madie out to rock on the front porch when he feels like taking a break.

Avery (3 years, 10 months) - Strong willed Avery has been very focused on being a "big girl" this month.  She wants to do everything herself unless it involves cleaning up ;)  She has been very into swimming lately and prefers to spend lazy mornings at home, mid day at the library and afternoons at the pool.

King Valley 4th of July Party

Our neighborhood had its annual early 4th of July party which is always a blast.  There was swimming, BBQ, water slides and Kona Ice.  Mom and dad even took a few trips down the slides!  The kids made it 7 hours at the pool and promptly came home to pass out.  It was the sign of a great day!

Atlanta United U.S. Cup Games

Dad and the boys made it to both US Cup games that Atlanta United played in.  The first was at Kennesaw State University and ATL won!  The second game was in Mercedes Benz stadium and unfortunately the team loss.  But the boys have definitely become quite the soccer fans!

Wild Animal Safari

Mom and the kids took the hour + drive down to Pine Mountain to check out the Wild Animal Safari.  Its a park with mainly free roaming animals that you can drive through.  You can either take your car, rent one or get on a bus and they sell food to feed the animals.  We opted to take our car and loaded up on food.  It took a moment to get comfortable driving with wild animals around.  And it took a bit longer to get comfortable with huge creatures putting their heads in the window begging for food.  Avery wasn't a huge fan of feeding anything that came up to the window, she loved the pigs and small deer.  Carter was fairly into it until one animal reached in so far that it grabbed his bag of food and took it.  Parker was into all of it and fed every animal.  We ended up doing the walking trail once, driving through twice and may have done a 3rd drive if we didn't have to beat Atlanta traffic home!
