May

May... oh so busy but oh so fun! Mom's tennis team made playoffs (with 0 help of mine as Sunday kid obligations ruled this year). Avery and Carter went to the gym with me for Mother's Day where Avery won the musical chairs competition. We had a ton of fun parties including 3 Kentucky Derby events and a Progressive Dinner. And we celebrated our anniversary at 2 different baseball fields!

Derby ready!

Avery (8 years, 9 months) - Avery's class took a field trip to the Chattahoochee Nature Center and she was thrilled to spend a day not in the classroom!

And she wrapped up school year fun with a retirement party  for her K teacher, sweet crafts for Mother's Day, awards day and yearbook signing.

The soccer season that would never start came to an end by playing her bestie and having an epic team party. Her sweet coaches gave every child an award with candy that represented them plus a book. Avery got Extra gum because she was always 'extra' on the field ;)

Otherwise the neighborhood pool opened so Avery had to make a daily appearance and she acted like a goofball per usual.

Parker (11 years, 6 months) - Parker wrapped up his travel baseball and rec ball seasons just in time to start All stars the next week. His rec team lost in the second round of the playoffs which wasn't unexpected. It was a great team of kids but I think they liked hanging out together more than trying their hardest on the field. Parker struggled to find his confidence after getting hurt but he is very excited to start fresh with summer ball!

Coaches going with short, shorts for playoffs - fairly sure only Colin went all in

End of year band concert

Carter (13 years) - Carter had time for a few fun activities outside school and baseball. He got to lead the annual Court of Honor Ceremony for Scouts, went to a bah mitsvah and got to see the symphony play Star Wars with dad.

But Carter's month outside school mainly involved a lot of baseball!

Siblings

Last Day of School Festivities

The end of school always brings a lot of fun! Poor Carter just has exams the last week of school so the fun thing for him is shutting the books.

But for Avery and the King Springs kids, we celebrated with our annual end of school water gun fight. Avery LOVES this and excitedly talks about her strategy for days before.

Later that afternoon was the King Springs 5th grade parade which goes through our neighborhood. Avery made a sign to celebrate her favorite graduating Lovett and King Springs Lions! We excitedly cheered for our neighborhood, baseball, Smyrna, etc. friends!

Parker's last day of school included the 5th grade pool party! The kids kicked off the party with a big pool jump to celebrate the jump into Middle School. This year we organized a foam machine for them and it was a hit with the kids.

After school, Parker went to a graduation party with friends and ran into his Kindergarten buddy. Fitting way to wrap up the school year!

The next day we had Parker's 5th Grade Graduation Ceremony. He volunteered to read a poem which is very non-Parker like so we were very proud of him!

And we finished the day with our neighborhood 5th grade graduation pool party!
