Happy Birthday Colin!

We had a nice day as Colin ejoyed his last child-less birthday! As is usual these days, gifts centered on baby-boy Holden. Brie "enjoyed" getting to test drive daddy's new baby carrier.

The little man rocking chair was also a big hit! He'll definitely be spending time on the front porch in it.

30 Weeks!

With only 70 days left and the nursery in great shape, we have turned our attention to getting all the baby gear ready. This means Colin puts stuff together while I sit on the couch and provide him with random facts about babies and pregnancy from the Internet. Thanks to mom, Colin had some important items to get ready

Here are a few of my favorite pics of Colin and family in action. I was excited to see that Colin was willing to read the instructions that came with the pack-n-play (aka baby's bed for first few months).

But he got it together in the end (yes - that is Colin pushing a stroller around our family room)!


Brie even decided to get in on the action. She had to make sure everything was put together safely for her future little brother.

Nursery: It's a Jungle!

Colin and I have made lots of progress on the nursery over the last few months thanks to lots of help from family and friends. We just have to finish the window treatments, pick a name and wait for baby.

Our concept started with the ceiling. Colin really wanted to paint it to look like the sky and do some clouds. He did it all himself and I think he did a great job!

After Colin got his ceiling, I wanted to put some dimension and texture in the room. We found this tree on a random shopping trip and it fit the bill perfectly. We then filled the tree with lost of animal friends and Colin got to put a GT item in a well.

Then we started discussing painting a mural on the wall but Colin found this giraffe decal on a shopping trip so we decided to give it a try.

We liked it so much, we got a few more decals to complete the other walls.

Colin then installed a new closet system and we added lots of special touches from friends and family. We think it is the perfect room to bring Baby Holden home to!

Shower Time

Colin, Baby and I were fortunate enough to have some wonderful friends host and attend a couples shower for us last Saturday. Below are a few of my favorite pictures.

28 Week Doctor Appointment

A little late but we had a very fun and busy weekend. More on that later....

So here is a quick update on the baby progress. I had my 28 week appointment last Friday. Everything went well. I'm excited that all the testing is done so its just measuring and listening from here on out. The Doctor actually has a tape measure that he uses to size my stomach. For some reason that really amuses me! He said it a good size, though it looks like a giant watermelon to me =) Other than that, Doctor took my blood pressure and the baby's Heartbeat (in the 140s). From baby's recent kicks, it feels like he has changed position. I don't think he is sideways anymore, but we'll have to wait for an Ultrasound to confirm.
