May Pictures

Here are some random pictures from the past month.  The boys seem to play with each other all the time now.  Parker loves his brother and copies everything he does.  Carter is pretty good with it though he does struggle with sharing his toys.  Luckily he doesn't mind sharing his dad.  Especially when it involves a good tickle fight...
The boys also let mom get in on the fun.

Lots of reading
We started a new habit this week with movie night.  So far the boys have enjoyed Dumbo, Peter Pan and Cars.  They make it about halfway through before attention spans and exhaustion kick in.
Mom and dad have been very fortunate to enjoy some adult only time this month (Thank you Mimi!).  We even spent a night downtown to catch the Alabama concert with some friends.
Happy May everyone!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a jam packed Memorial Day Weekend!  Good thing we had an extra day to fit everything in.  Our neighborhood pool recently opened, so we took several trips to the pool.  The boys were really excited!
Parker wasn't too sure about the water and preferred to spend his time in mom/dad's arms.
Carter, on the other hand, dove right in!
We also took in some culture with a trip to the Decatur Arts Festival.
The weather was perfect so we had a picnic lunch.
I'm not sure the boys appreciated the art, but they did have fun with their balloons and Caitlyn!
Carter even invited Caitlyn on a stroller ride.

Both boys passed out on the way home.
Which meant they were wide awake for an afternoon golf game with the neighborhood kids.  Carter has a bit to learn about the game seeing as how every time he got a hold of a ball, he would drop the club, yell "home run" and then run pretend bases... we will work on this.
Over the weekend, Carter started an impromptu game of Ring Around The Rosie.  Parker has been extremely into Carter copying his every move and had to join in.
..."we all fall down" ended in a non-stop stream of laughter.
Everyone was in on it and the game lasted many rotations.
Over the holiday Parker continued to work on his fork skills... something tells me this zucchini bread may be more than the boy's mouth can handle.
After nap on Monday, Carter woke up very excited to go to the pool again.  Once there, any trepidation was gone and full on jumps to the pool commenced.
Unlike his first trip a few days prior, Parker warmed up (after getting used to the cool water temp) and had a blast as well.  As long as Carter is near by, Parker is always in a great mood.
Soon after we got there, Carter's best friend and neighbor, Hailey came by and a pool party started.
Much of which consisted with the brothers creating their own custom water feature.
Rounding out our long extended weekend was an after dinner bike ride.  The boys had a blast.
Carter decided to take out his scooter for a bit and called out when Dad and Parker rode by.
While Parker was all smiles the whole time.
Needless to say, we were all very happy to hit the pillow come the end of the day Monday.

May Friend Birthdays

With 12 kids who have birthday's within 8 weeks at preschool, it has been a very busy month for birthday parties!  Here are pictures from a few of the more memorable parties.

A pizza party for Ryan - Carter and Ryan share a birthday.  For his party, the kids all made pizza.  Surprisingly to mom and dad, Carter's tasted fabulous!
They also had a face painter.  Carter wasn't going for anything on his face but he did get a horse on his arm.

Up next was Hailey's 4th birthday party at a local kid's gym.  They had a giant foam pit which the kids loved playing in.
On the zipline headed to wards the pit
In the birthday chair
Brynn had a music birthday party.  Carter was lucky enough to sit next to the birthday girl and enjoy some ice cream in a fun glass.  Best of all cute Talia (pictured far left) chased him around and gave him a kiss!

And last was Charlie's water birthday party.  Carter enjoyed splashing in the water, throwing water balloons and got TWO hugs from sweet Mia!

Last Day at Preschool

Today was Carter's last day as a bunny!  Carter has had a fabulous year at preschool and we are all so sad for it to end.  His school does such a fabulous job bringing out the imagination and sense of youth in the kids through art, music and play.  We will all miss Carter's bunny teachers and friends over the summer!
For their end of year celebration, the kids did a performance of I Am Special, This Little Light of Mine and the Bunny Polka.
Getting ready
Singing I am Special
This Little Light of Mine
Bunny Polka... put your ears in
and Shake it all around!
All that singing worked up quite an appetite so the kids had a nice snack.
Before it was time to get their diplomas.  The teachers also got each child a few gifts including a collage with pictures from the class throughout the year.  Then they gave a little speech about each child.  They called Carter the "Brainic" of the class because he seems to always know the answer.  And they speculated that he might be a "Future Teacher" because he loves to help the teachers with every task including picking up and getting the class to follow orders.
Our Happy Graduate!

It's sad to see this chapter end but we are so thankful for the experience Carter had this past year in school!

Parker at 18 Months

Sweet little Parker just keeps growing up on us despite our best efforts to freeze time.  Parker has really grown up over the past few months.  He is an incredibly affectionate little guy.  He loves to he held and snuggle (something his daycare teachers love!).
Wearing his Shirt from his PMO class
He loves music and will dance to anything.  He also likes to sing along to Wheels on the Bus and Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.  His vocabulary is expanding.  His current favorite word is book.  Which is perfect because he loves reading too.  He has been doing really well at daycare and gets a glowing report every day about how he loves to pick up, is very sweet to his friends, loves to share, likes to snuggle and enjoys, in engaged and participates in every activity they do!
On the food front, he continues to be a picky eater but he likes random things like Kale and Salmon.  And he will eat anything in a pouch.  He adores the animals and squeals with delight when he hugs Morgan and Madie.
He is wearing 12 months clothes but is probably ready for some 18 months.  He has been pretty consistent in his sleep for a while, going to bed at 8 and waking between 7:30 and 8:00.  With an afternoon nap between 1:00 and 4:00.
Sleeping with the fruit snack container
He loves to climb, play with water, read books and play with any vehicle.  We're very excited for the pool to open to see how he does in it.
He adores his brother, likes to wrestle and play trains with him.  He also copies everything he does!
He weighs 22.3lbs (7th %), is 32" tall (39th %) and has a head circumference of 48-1/2 cm (69th %).
Parker is the sweetest little guy and he makes our family complete!  We love you Parksie!
