February

February was a busy month with birthdays, Valentines's, winter sports and of course our amazing vacation but the kids managed to fit in some more fun.

Avery (4 years, 6 months) - Avery and dad went on their annual Daddy Daughter date to Chick-fil-A with some friends.  The enjoyed meeting Belle at dinner and going to build-a-bear afterwards.  Avery also wrapped up her cheerleading season.  She really enjoyed it and has asked to do it again next year!  Avery has been very excited about having playdates with friends and hopefully warmer weather coming so she can go swimming.

Parker (7 years, 3 months) - Parker also enjoyed his winter sport, basketball.  His team was super sweet and ended up the season undefeated.  We still don't see Parker much after school as he prefers to spend his afternoons running around the neighborhood with his friends.

Carter (8 years, 9 months) - Carter had a super fun invite to go spend a night at the Great Wolf Lodge with his best buddy Andre.  They had a blast together.  Carter also wrapped up basketball and is looking forward to baseball season.

Two sweet basketball players and one little cheerleader!

February at School

Carter had a good month at school.  In social studies he wrapped up his lessons on the states and moved onto Native Americans.  In math they finished up multiplication and division moving on to fractions.  Language arts was focused on mystery books, writing fairy tales and grammar.

Parker had a busy month with fun activities.  First was the Chinese New Year parade where each first grade class decorated a dragon and they got to be in a parade for the Lower School.  He had a fun field trip to the High Museum where they got to see various art and then recreate it.  The class also had a Valentine's activity day and a Valentine's party.  Both included games, crafts and treats!  There was also learning about Black History month, Parker's class focused on Frederick Douglass.  And the standard student subjects: length and weight in math, reading, writing, servant leadership and historical figures.
