Mother's Day Weekend

As the first weekend with no plans and nice weather in a LONG time, we made the best of it and spent Saturday at the Botanical Gardens.  There is a new exhibit going on with large scale topiaries that was really cool.
On the way in, we ran into the Junker family and spend some time hanging out with them in the Chidren's garden.

Parker loves slides
Carter wanted to catch Julian on the slide
Then we headed over to amphitheater where Mother Goose was having story time.
Carter and Parker loved the story.  They lasted about 30 minutes before they couldn't handle sitting any longer.
So off to explore we went...
Checking out the bees
Looking for Frogs
Soon we were hungry so we headed to grab a bite before the boys got distracted by the fountain.
After lunch, we finished our tour of the gardens and the remaining topiaries.
Carter got a little chilly so he borrowed mom's shirt and turned into a super hero.
A superhero who loves his little brother...
And also likes to play tackle with him.
We started making our way to the exit when Parker saw something that caught his eye...
The fairy goddess statue!
After a while it was apparent that nap-time was upon us.
So Parker waved bye-bye to the statues and off we went!
Sunday morning we had a wonderful breakfast at home thanks to dad and the boys gave me some great Mother's Day gifts... lots of cards, crafts and
some very special flowers!
After some morning fun in the water table...
Parker and mom went shopping.
While the older boys did some yard work.
It was a wonderful day with the family... perfect Mother's Day weekend!
