Sullivans Island - Fourth of July

We continued our annual tradition of taking the family to Sullivan's Island for the 4th of July and this year we had a large crew - Pops, Emme, Uncle Reido, Aunt Shea, Aunt B, Uncle C and Cousin Wren. For the fourth we put on our red, white and blue best!
And decorated the golf carts for the annual Island golf cart parade.  We went with one golf cart in a traditional patriotic theme and the second with a 4th at the beach theme.
The parade lined up at the recently rebuilt Sullivan's Island Elementary school.  There were a ton of golf carts and some really incredible ones.

Carter and Uncle Reido were in the backseat on candy duty for us.  Carter loves being in the parade!
Parker wanted to ride with Aunt B and preferred to wave his flag at everyone.
After the parade, we headed to the fish fry shack for watermelon, cup cakes, shaved ice and arts and crafts (aka tattoos for the Holden boys).
Back at the house we spend the afternoon taking some fun pictures and enjoying the pool before dinner.
However, our lazy Saturday was interrupted by heading down to the beach for Salute to the Shore (annual military flyover of the beach).  The boys had a blast splashing in the water while waiting for the planes to fly by.
After dinner, we hit up the local ice cream store and then watched fireworks from the front yard and on golf carts.
It was a great day to celebrate family and the wonderful opportunities our life gives us.  Happy 4th everyone!
