First Day of School - Round 2

Carter started first grade today!  His teacher's are Ms Sartain and Ms Middleton.  In a small world, Ms Sartain actually graduated from Lovett with Aunt Bailie.  The day before school started we had sneak a peak and got to go check out Carter's new classroom.  Carter was excited to see some familiar faces in his room and hopefully he'll make some new friends too,  His room is definitely a bit more grown up than the Kindergarten one, he has a desk drawer with all his school supplies and a math cubby which includes his first TI calculator!

Carter brought home cookies for a special dessert from the Lovett Campus Shop - they got two thumbs up!

The boys decided to have a slumber party in Carter's room the night before school started.  They seemed to sleep fairly well but everyone was still a bit on summer time when we got up.  Carter obliged for a few pictures but he got pretty nervous as we got closer to getting to school.  Luckily a few minutes going through the names of all the kids in his class helped and he was ready!

Overall he is a bit nervous to start the year but pretty excited to see his buddies and get learning!

Avery's Birthday Party

For Avery's birthday we decided to take a few friends to see Babies in Space at the Alliance Theater and then get lunch at the Arts Complex.  Avery knew it was her day and she was an attention hound.  She waved, screamed and made eyes at everyone we encountered.  The show was a bit crazy (lots of random noises) but the babies seemed to like it.  We loved spending the day with wonderful friends!

Avery at 2

Little Avery is two.  She has a lot of personality and makes her family smile on a daily basis.  Avery loves books, music, playing with water, her brothers, playing in the car, swimming, and green pasta.  She is working on her words when she can get an edge in with her brothers.  Avery is very opinionated about her clothes and tends to choose dresses to wear each day (she loves her princess dresses).  She is a girl who needs her sleep and gets a bit ornery when she doesn't get it.

Avery is wearing 2t and a few 3t clothes.  She wears size 5 or 6 shoes and size 6 diapers.  She typically goes down for bed around 8 and is up for the day around 7.  She takes a nap for an hour or two in the afternoon.

Avery gives the sweetest big bear hugs and kisses,  She loves her friends through she needs some work on her sharing.

We love her spunky personality and strong-will.  Happy Birthday Avery!

First Day of School - Round 1

Parker and Avery started school today.  Parker is in Kindergarten at his preschool.  He gets to wear a uniform most days and has a real backpack.  He was super excited for his first day!

Avery started in her Early Preschool class.  She wasn't too thrilled for her first day but warmed up by the end of the week.  She seems most excited about her new playground (it has swings!) and working on her potty training.
