Carter's Day Off

Carter's first day of Fall Break was on Friday.  That meant Carter was off with Dad for a day of fun and new adventures.  First up, IHOP and a scary Halloween pancake.

Then Carter and Dad were off to CNN Center.  Carter has recently been interested in seeing the news on TV and this seemed like something that could perk his interest... it did.  He was full of questions and begged for the CNN app to be installed on his iPad as soon as we returned home.

After CNN the boys walked through Centennial Olympic Park, even though it was about 75deg out, a little fun in the fountains had to be undertaken.

Luckily all got out of the fountains in dry fashion.  Next to the fountains is the new street car stop, the street car was there and the fare is still free, so Dad and Carter hopped on.  Although initially intended to be a single loop ride back to the park, Dad decided to take Carter for some added experience and learning by stopping at the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site.  Carter immediately recognized the National Parks logo and was on a mission to add to his National Park Junior Ranger collection.  He and Dad worked through an age appropriate workbook learning about MLK Jrs life and the civil rights struggle.  Soon he had completed the required steps for a Kindergartner and returned to talk with the Ranger on duty to review.  After she approved of his work and understanding, he was issued the Junior Ranger Oath and awarded his Junior Ranger Badge.

Back to the street car

After a quick stop for lunch (shakes and floats for desert of course)...
And Carter became Dad's tour guide at the World of Coke
Future Olympic torch bearer...

In the tasting room, Carter insisted on tasting all 100 varieties from around the world.  The famous Beverly is something Carter soon learned he was not a fan of

Cheers with a regular Coca-Cola Classic

It was a great day in downtown Atlanta.  Carter and Dad had a blast and were looking forward to more Fall Break fun to come.
