November at School

Carter is enjoying school and doing well with the increased expectations in 3rd grade.  He has gotten into a routine of coming home and doing his homework each day without being asked.  Carter got his own school email account this year and has been using it to email teachers and friends about assignments.  The Lower School had a NUD day to celebrate Arts at Lovett and Carter's grade wore white.  For his monthly Chinese lesson, the class learned how to make dumplings.  And the big event for 3rd grade this month was the Read-a-thon.  Each child committed to read for 100 minutes and they solicited donations for their efforts.  Next month the kids will go to Target to buy toys/clothes for a local homeless shelter with the funds they raised.

For the Read-a-thon, each child got to bring in one item from home to read with

Parker is also enjoying school and typically has a strong superlative to describe his day - awesome, great, spectacular.  The first grade got to wear red for their NUD day.  Parker's favorite activity this month was making a marble run during In-Gen lab.

Avery had a lot of fun at her Thanksgiving Feast.  The class all dressed up like Indigenous people and ever got to come up with a name for themselves.  Avery chose "Spirited Princess Runner".  Her teachers and parent volunteers dressed up like Pilgrims.  The class had a big meal, listened to a few stories and did several crafts.  Mimi came and brought all the cute crafts!  Avery is still enjoying her after school activities and enjoys making yummy goodies in cooking class each week.
