Atlanta Braves are World Series Champs

It was an exciting year for the Atlanta Braves as they won their first World Series title since 1995.  Mom was in 9th grade and was fortunate to get to go to the celebrations.  We knew we were going to take the kids to whatever was planned.  It seems like most schools expected that to be the case as classes were canceled around the city.

The celebration included a parade downtown, parade by the stadium and a ceremony/concert inside the stadium.  We were lucky enough to get ticket to the stadium activities so we went over to the Battery early to check out the atmosphere with some friends.  We ended up going into the stadium when it opened and grabbing lunch inside (it was a cold day).  We were fortunate enough to find a view of the parade from inside the stadium so we could watch the fun before the celebration started.

After team introductions and lots of speeches, we were treated to a concert by Big Boi and Ludacris with a special appearance by Zac Brown.  We ended up leaving our seats and joining various friends around the stadium.  It was such a fun day and hopefully the next World Series win doesn't take another 26 years!
