California Adventure - Day 1

Disneyland Resort has 2 Theme Parks: Disneyland and California Adventure.  After a few days at the other park, we decided to spend the next 2 days at California Adventure.  Carter had a goal to be the first one at the gate this morning and he put up a great effort coming in 2nd place.  Turns out that paid off as we were chosen to be the "Family of the Day" to open the park up.  They approached us in line and gave us our instructions: count down 10-1 and then yell "let the magic begin".  When they ask if we could handle that, Avery replied "I was born ready".

Everyone else still lined up outside the gates

We headed to Cars Land after the park opened and Radiator Springs Racers didn't disappoint.  We then walked around the lake enjoying all the carnival riders - especially the Incredicoaster.  California Adventure was hosting a Food and Wine festival while we were there so there were also opportunities to stop along the way for a quick bite to eat while we made our way through all the areas of the park.

Along the way Avery found lots of characters and as always, several churros.

California Adventure is a small park so when we had made it through all the rides by early afternoon the kids decided to fit in some fun activities.  For Avery that meant, a special cupcake decorating activity through the Food & Wine Festival and a trip to the Disney Junior Dance Party.  For the boys that meant exploring Avenger Campus and the many shows there.
Avery joined the boys and was pumped to sling some webs

We ate dinner by the lake and hit up our favorite rides one more time before we headed back to the hotel for the night.
