Parker's All Star Summer Baseball Season

For Parker's age, all star baseball kicked off May 15th with 6 days a weeks of games/practices until the season ended July 2nd. It is a lot of baseball and time with the same group but we have been blessed to have had another amazing group of families to spend those 7 long, hit weeks with!

This year there were 14 boys picked for the team and it happened that Parker had played with every single one of them over his years of baseball. It made for a quick camaraderie amongst the team. The team practiced for the first two weeks and then played tournaments for 5 straight weeks including an away tournament in Nashville. Parker was the starting catcher but also got in an inning or 2 of outfield during the game.

With a new group of kids and a large team, they took the first two tournaments to figure out the line-up and defensive positions. And after a fun weekend bonding in Nashville, the team came back strong and won their last 2 tournaments including a run differential of 31-2 in pool play their last weekend.

Once again Colin was an assistant coach and manned first base. He stepped up his game this summer handing out gummy worms to the kids at 1st base the last weekend and taking over walk-up music for the last 4 weeks. While managing dad's song choices over Father's Day was a hit, his surprise change to silly walk-up songs for the last day (ex. Barbie Girl, Mickey Mouse, Calliou) was a huge hit.

We ended the season with a fun team pool party and let the kids sign their all star banners. But when they won the championship the next day we had to get back together to celebrate and show off their Mega ring!

We are sad the season is over but ready to have some time off before Parker's final Little League season starts back this Fall.
