6 Months - Week 4

This week Carter's favorite thing is anything he can put in his mouth. And he goes to town on whatever it is so watch those fingers. Baby teeth hurt! He loves his key that light up.
His bibs are a big time favorite, especially the tags on them. But really he'll just grab anything in reach!
Carter is enjoying spending more time on his belly. We have been working with him on reaching for toys to help develop his muscle for crawling. He has started doing little scoots where he pulls his legs up and pushes them against the ground to move himself forward. He has also recently started to do the inch bug where he lifts up his rear and then pushes his body forward. Daycare says he enjoys spending time on the floor so hopefully he is picking up some tricks from his pals!

This week was also fun because Carter tried some new things. First we decided to test his sitting skills by pulling out the shopping cart cover on a trip to Target. He did ok as long as he was entertained by the teether but when that got old he preferred to be held by daddy.
Next Carter tried a few new foods. First up was puffs, Carter was able to pick them up but couldn't quite get them in his mouth. So mom helped and Carter gave the reaction below. His typical first time with a new food response. Next up was Yogurt... first was response was a little better.Luckily the second bite of each was a success!
The same can't be said for Carter's last new food of the week.... beef. This was all dad's idea. Carter made a face at the first bite and shuttered at the second. That was the end of that new food!

Lastly, Carter has been quite the acrobat. As his videos yesterday showed, he loves to practice standing. He also loves walking in his walker and holding onto mom/dad. He isn't too interest in learning to sit but the kid can't wait to start walking!
