Along with Carter's two best friends' moms, I surprised Carter with a long weekend in NYC. They had Fall Break before Carter so he got to miss school for a few days. We didn't tell Carter anything about the trip and when he woke up "to get ready for school" that morning and his scheduled spelling test, we told him he didn't have to wear his uniform and we had a special carpool that morning which lead to very confused looks as he readied himself. Needless to say he was caught quite off guard when the car arrived with his best friends shouting in the back seat!
We spend a packed 3 nights/4 days in the city. Day 1 was first taxi ride, Central Park, the Zoo, Time Square, NY Pizza Dinner, Empire State Building and the first limo ride. Day 2 we did first subway ride, Museum of American History, Dylan's Candy Bar, Serendipity and School of Rock on Broadway. Day 3 was the Statue of Liberty, HighLine Park, Chelsea Pier, Ellen's Stardust Diner and Sweet Melissa's cupcakes. Day 4 was Intrepid Air/Space Museum. Jammed packed but so much fun!
