October at School

Carter's highlight of the month was surely when Mom got to be his mystery reader (ha!).  Second grade is lots of work.  But he had a little bit of fun mixed in, including making fried rice with his Chinese teacher.  Carter continues to love math, science and the ingen lab.

Parker is having a blast at school and is always asking to get there as early as possible.  He talks positively about every subject but seems to have a particular interest for art and writing.  The class had lots of fun activities this month including class pictures, a behind the scenes tour of the lunch room (for their community helpers unit), the first lunch BBQ in the Dell, celebrating Diwali, a field trip to Uncle Bob's Pumpkin Patch, doing pumpkin art with seniors, working in the garden and lots more.

Avery has been having fun at school.  She talks about the playground most but occasionally we will get other tidbits.  She had school pictures this month and she choose a purple outfit.  They also have weekly dress up themes and show and share which Avery loves to participate in.  We had her first parent teacher conference this month and Avery got high marks for counting backwards and scissors skills ;)

Parker drew her this picture to take to "H" week show and share
Avery's class had a Halloween party and mom got to be the reader.  We read books, did a craft and had a spooky dance party.  Avery chose a Minnie Mouse outfit to wear.
