Disney World Fall Break - Animal Kingdom

Avery and Dad made it to all four parks over four days.  First up was Disney's Animal Kingdom bright and early for a 7:30am rope drop.  First order of business was to head to Pandora and to the Flight of Passage ride.  This ride regularly has 2hr+ wait times, but in getting there at park opening we were able to get on within 25 -minutes and continue the day.

Pandora is a great looking space
While the rides were the highlight, meeting some classic characters was a must!

Dino Chip and Dale
Fashion Designer Daisy

Safari Mini and Mickey Mouse

While walking through the park, we stumbled upon a parrot show at the front of the Tree of Life.  The parrots fly freely through the park and congregate for a demonstration of their training and flock behaviors.  A number of the parrots flew right over us and to us.

But it was soon back to the rides as our Lightning Lane reservations started to come up.

A bit scared at Dinosaur the ride

Super excited for Everest (a fantastic roller coaster)

We ran into Kevin from the movie "Up"

Overall it was a fantastic day at the park riding all the rides, walking the animal trails to see the African and Asian animals including gorillas and tigers.  Being our first day and logging over 22,000 steps for Avery, she was somewhat happy that this park closes earlier than the others to allow for a bit of rest and pool time at the hotel before the next day's adventure.
