Quick Labor Day Trip to Birmingham - Day 1

The boys had mentioned wanting to fit in another minor league game before the season was over so with a long weekend we decided to fit in a quick trip. They selected the Birmingham Barons so off to Alabama we went. We left early in the morning so we could fit in a trip to the Zoo for Avery before the game. The Zoo is smaller and a bit more dated than Atlanta but we enjoyed the many primates, train ride and Giraffe Feeding. And they had Flamingos for Avery so she was thrilled.

After the zoo, we checked into the hotel and grabbed some donuts for an afternoon pick-me up. We had a little time to kill so we did a found a Geocache that was downtown (a new interest of Carter's).

Then it was off to the game. The Barons lost handedly to the Montgomery Biscuits but there was plenty of ballpark food and a kids play area to occupy the troop. After the game, the kids got to run the bases.
