Parker... Day 2

Here are a few pictures from today of Parker and a quick update. Parker was moved to the Intermediary Nursery last night from the NICU. He will be there until he is released. His lungs are a bit under-developed due to his premature birth so he is breathing really quick to make up for it. He also grunts sometimes when he breaths in order to try and develop his lung strength. He is also on 24 hours of antibiotics while the doctors run some cultures to determine if there is anything else going on. To start the day he was getting fluids via an IV but no true "food" yet.

He is a really good patient and spends most of his day sleeping soundly...
By mid-day, he started rooting some so the nurses gave him a paci to help with his sucking strength. It is also helping him keep up his oxygenation levels.
Carter came by with dad late afternoon to check on his little bro. He was a bit confused by everything going on.
He hung out for over an hour and spent most of the time in dad's lap.
He even sat and watched while mom go to hold the little guy.
Parker was doing well throughout the day and had stopped the grunting so the doctors gave the ok to start him on a feeding tube getting 8cc's every 3 hours. When he is getting fed, they will let someone hold him so mom was able to get in some quality time with the little guy which was a great way to end the day!
