An Evening at the Zoo

Colin's employer, McKenney's, is celebrating their 65th anniversary this year so they had a party at the Zoo tonight to celebrate.  We got there early so the kids could enjoy the animals before bed time.  The kids had a blast.  We were expecting the animals to be quiet and winding down for the day but all the big cats were out and active.  The Lions and Tigers were especially active... running, jumping, wrestling and making lots of noise.  In all our times at the zoo, we probably saw more action from those animals than the entire combined time we had spent prior.

Here are some pictures of the kids visiting the animals.

Carter and mom's turn
Two cute Meerkats

Carter wanted to wear his soccer clothes
Enjoying the carousel
All the boys
Onto the train... into the caboose of course
After dinner, Carter insisted on waiting in a VERY long line for the face painter.  So Parker and dad visited the petting zoo.  As usual, he insisted on brushing/petting every single animal.
Meanwhile, Carter waited patiently in line.  When it was finally our turn, he requested a dragon on his arm.
Final Product
The zoo brought out a few animals for the kids to touch and Carter was thrilled.
We took a late night swing by the playground where the kids put on quite the drum show.
Then it was time for bed.  Where two very tired kids slept extremely well!
