Weekly Recap

Parker (4 months)
Parker is still fighting his congestion.  I think he has been congested since January 1st.  I'm not sure if it is allergies, sickness, teething or just being a baby.  Unfortunately it affects his sleep and he wakes himself up coughing each night.  He goes down around 7 each night and wakes up sometime between 1 and 4.  After his first wake up, he is up every 1-2 hours after that.  It also doesn't help that he has been breaking out of his swaddle.  He flailing arms wake him up!

Parker was involved in his first fight this week.  He wasn't the one fighting... he's too sweet ;)  He actually had two teachers fighting over him.  They both wanted to hold him so it was rock, paper, scissors to determine who got the honor!

We've also noticed over the past few weeks that Parker has picked up a specific trait from his dad.  He sneezes when he looks at sun.

Here are a few pictures of the cute little guy this week.
Yum... Carrots!
Excited about school
Playing catch with his feet.

Enjoying his Exercauser
It's fun but requires lots of concentration
Carter (23 months)
Carter is loving the Spring weather and had been taking advantage with nightly walks around the neighborhood.  He loves anything having to do with being outside.  It's been fun watching him start to make friends with the neighborhood kids.  He also likes to play with mom and dad.  He and dad have been taking advantage of our proximity to the Silver Comet Trail with regular bike rides.  And he likes to have mom chase vans around the neighborhood (they are usually much quicker than us!).

Being outside has also improved Carter's sport's abilities.  He has gotten quite good at kicking the soccer ball.  He has also been working on his basketball, baseball, tennis and golf games!

When not outside, Carter's next favorite place is the minivan!  He likes to play in the back as if it's a fort. He has also become a bit of a backseat driver.  He likes to tell mom to go "this way".  It's hard to tell where he is pointing since he is still rear-facing.  So I usually guess, if I guess wrong Carter lets me know!

Lastly, Carter has piked up a new favorite word this week - "yea".  It was cute at first but we're working to get him back to saying "yes".

Here are your weekly Carter pics.

Easter Evening

When we got home, Carter decided to get in a little naked roller coaster time.
But Carter is obsessed with the outdoors these days so he didn't want to stay inside long.  Dad had a great idea for a fun game!  He decided to try it out on the dogs first.
Success!  So Carter put on his 5th outfit of the day and dad took a run through the sprinkler obstacle course with his little monkey.
They went back and forth several times.  Dad made sure Carter got nice and wet.
Such boys!
Then dad and Carter realized they had an audience.  Our neighbors found the game particularly amusing.
After Carter dried off (we changed him back into outfit #2... why dirty up another set of clothes?) an d the little guy was exhausted.  Breakfast as WaHo, 2 egg hunts, lots of relatives, water table, sprinklers, and 6 outfits... it was a BIG day!  So Carter curled up on the floor with a snack and relaxed while watching NoddleBug.
It was a very busy Easter for the Holden family... but definitely a ton of fun!

Easter Afternoon

After a quick nap, we changed the boys into their Easter clothes and headed over to Grandmama's to spend the afternoon with the Jones family.
Dad was excited about the family time and wasted no time getting into the Easter spirit.
We tried to take a picture with the boys in their Easter blue but between a misplaced finger and a soaking wet Carter, it turned out like this.
How did Carter get wet you ask?  Well it started out innocently enough playing with cousin Samantha and the water table.
But then Carter got an idea.
When the water table would spray up, Carter would stand over it.  He thought this was hilarious.
Do you think Uncle Reid put a stop to the fun... no!  In fact he started a new game of splashing water at each other and putting water on Carter's head.
Fortunately we were able to convince the little guy to come inside where he won this jar of candy for guessing how many pieces of candy are in the jar (he guessed 275 and actually was 271).
We snapped a quick family picture...
before Parker passed out...
and Carter went outside for more fun!
At this point, the little guy was soaked so grandma came to the rescue with an old outfit of Uncle Reid's (this was Carter's 4th outfit of the day!).  He looked pretty cute especially in contrast to Uncle Micheal's manly plaid shirt.
The outfit definitely had an 80's cut to it.
But Carter didn't care because he could still play golf in it.
It was time to go before Carter got into anything else, so we rounded up the boys and hit the road!
It was a great afternoon with the family!

Easter Morning

We started the Easter fun a few days earlier when Grandmama and Carter made bunny biscuits...
But the real fun started on Easter morning!  We changed the boys out of their Pjs and headed to our favorite holiday breakfast spot... Waffle House.
Carter ate a huge breakfast!  Apparently he was loading up since he knew he had a big day ahead.  When we got home, the Easter bunny had hopped by and dropped of some goodies for two very lucky little boys.
Sweet little Parker was just about the same size as his basket!
After emptying both baskets, Carter noticed something else the Easter bunny left in the front yard.
Being an egg hunt veteran, Carter wasted no time and headed out to collect his loot!

The bunny had left behind a few sports themed eggs and they threw Carter for a loop.  He picked up the basketball egg, yelled "basketball shoot" and chucked it in the air!
He then found a baseball egg and showed off his overhand throw!
 After locating the final eggs...
Carter squealed with delight and decided it was time to go play with his new toys.
Parker had been supervising all the fun with and was excited to get in on the fun.
Carter was particularly excited about his new bubbles and had dad play his favorite bubble game... bubble on the belly!
 After LOTS of bubble blowing...
it was time for an early nap because the Holden's had more Easter fun scheduled for the afternoon.
