Carter - Day 1

I have been a bit delinquent posting (more on that later) so here is the first of hopefully a few updates of our activities over the last few days.

After Carter was born Tuesday, we spent all day Wednesday at the hospital in Cartersville. We learned a lot about our new guy that day. First, he is a champion sleeper just like his dad. He got his circ done in the AM (I asked to have it done Wed so we could get help if any issues came up). He was knocked out most of the day after the procedure except when he went to the bathroom which elicited massive cries. That turned out to be a great indicator to dad that it was diaper changing time.
He was at his best sleeping when he was swaddled really tight. Good thing Colin got an A in Swaddling during our Baby Essentials class. He makes and excellent straight jacket out of a blanket.
Still on sleeping, our pups are 2 of the cutest sleepers I know between their random noises and dream sequences (my favorite is when Madie starts chasing something in her sleep and all 4 legs start going). Carter can give them a run for her money. He has the cutest little twitches and random hand movements. I have no idea what a 1 day old has to dream about but it sure seems interesting.
It was a nice day to spend with our little man. He puts a big smile on his mom's face....
And I think we make quite the adorable little family!
