Exploring Ft. Collins - Afternoon Activities

After a long afternoon nap, we decided to check out the local botanical gardens.  The wind was blowing pretty well so we were also able to get a good look at the wildfires that were raging all across the state.
Fortunately, the smoke didn't bother the boys or affect the air quality too much.  The botanical gardens had a great children's area which led off with a water feature.  Carter enjoyed pumping water into his watering can...
And watering all the flowers...
And trees.
He also took some time to explore the various trails, play in the Dr. Seuss house and check out the fish.
Parker had a blast as well and smiled the whole time.
We didn't leave before Carter played with the water some more which let to this scene in the car and a stop back by the hotel for extra dry socks.
After a costume change, we headed to Old Town.  This is a great walking area of Ft Collins with lots of stores and restaurants.  They also have various pianos around town which Carter took full advantage of.
Parker wasn't quite to sure about his big brother's playing skills.
Carter finally left the piano only to find a bear statue to climb on...
And another piano close by to try out.
We hit up the toy store and grabbed some dinner.  The boys weren't quite ready for bed yet so we decided to hit up one more spot... the Old Town splash park.  Carter had a blast being silly with dad.
But soon it was time to get dressed and head back to the hotel.  But not before trying out one last piano!
