Labor Day Weekend

There was no rest during the Holden family labor day weekend.  We started the festivities with a train ride!  Carter was so excited and talked about it for days afterwards.  He got mad every time we got in the car to go anywhere.  He wanted to ride the train to the grocery store, gas station, etc.
We took the train downtown to see the Dragon*con parade.  We weren't the only ones with the idea as MARTA was standing room only and the parade crown was 20 people deep.
We set up shop outside the Hyatt.  The parade was really long and had a wide array of participants.  Mom/dad recognized some of them like Ghost Busters, super hero's, Nintendo characters, etc.  But we had no idea who most of them were.  Here are some pictures of the parade.
Carter had a blast hanging out with dad and watching all the people.  His favorite costume was a dog (no clue who it was).

The weekend was hot but not too bad which made the perfect weather for a water gun fight!
Carter and Colin looked like the same person running around and trying to catch mom/Parker.
Carter had a blast!
Carter/dad bonding was going so well that Colin planned a special treat for Sunday night.  To get ready Carter packed a bag...
And said "Bye" to mom.
And ran outside to meet dad in the backyard where the boys planned to spend the evening.
Carter quickly unpacked his bag (books, animals and cars).
45 minutes later, they were in the house headed for bed on a normal mattress.  Monday was game day so dad dressed the boys accordingly.
Carter showed on his flag waving skills on the way too...
The duck pond!  Parker had a blast checking out the scenery.  Really he just loves standing!
And looks pretty dapper with his baseball cap!
The boys had fun watching the ducks, fish and turtles.
But Carter was ready to head off to our next adventure...
The Marietta Art festival.  Parker enjoyed his view from the stroller while we checked out the art.
Carter took a detour to take a train ride...
unfortunately this one was stationary.  After walking around for a bit we headed to the children's area where Carter tried out the bouncy house.
And went through the obstacle course with dad.
The boys spent the afternoon getting ready for game day...
before heading to bed totally exhausted!  It was a jam packed but really fun weekend!
