GT Football Weekend

This weekend was Tech's first home game and dad was really excited.  So we kicked off the festivities early with a trip to the Friday night pep rally at Atlantic Station.
We watched the band, cheer leaders and dance team for a while.  They had lots of giveaways and Carter got a ball (we was thrilled).  We also "watched" Buzz for a while.  Carter didn't want to get close but he wanted to watch him and know where he was at all times.
We took a brief break from all the football fun Saturday morning to hit up the farmer's market.  On the way home, we took a quick detour to check out the Paws and Planes festival.
It was a benefit for a pet rescue organization held at the Marietta Aviation Museum so there were dogs running around and lots of planes to check out.
They were also giving helicopter rides, which Carter enjoyed watching.  Carter won some balls and dog treats for Madie/Brie.
We didn't stay too long as we had a long afternoon/evening ahead.  Dad headed down early and mom joined up after the boys woke up from their naps.  When we arrived, dad wasted no time updating Carter's outfit.
Note: Tech was playing Presbyterian College whose mascot is the Blue Hoes represented by a Scotsman wearing blue stockings.  The blue socks above were mom's best attempt to economically represent their mascot.

Before we left the house, Carter made sure to pack his football hair.  He was really excited to show it off to dad.
We went to the player walk before the game where dad/Parker said "Hello" to buzz while Carter hid behind mom's legs.
Carter was excited to welcome the players and picked a spot on dad's shoulder to give out high-fives.

After the players all arrived, the boys took a quick ride in the back seat of the Ramblin Wreck.
And we took a few pictures of Carter wuth the fancy wheel cover on the back.
Touchdown!
Before it was time to head into the stadium.  Carter was a bit overwhelmed by all the action but he quickly warmed up and spend the game dancing to the band, searching the crowd for Buzz and cheering for the team.  His favorite part of the game was when they "kicked the ball high in the sky".
We were fortunate to have lots of kind friends around us who helped occupy Carter's attention as well!  Parker started the game hanging around checking out the action.  It was his first game so this was all new to him.
He loved all the attention and action!
Parker's teeth were definitely bothering him so we alternated everything we had for him to chew on.  Both boys were well behaved and made it to halftime when mom decided it was time for her and the boys to head home.

Tech won the game easily and we survived our first tailgate and game with both boys!  I'm not sure what our football game schedule will look like for the rest of the year so it was nice to get in a good day with the whole family!
