Day at the Zoo

Another gorgeous day outside meant the perfect opportunity to take Carter to the zoo. He loves being outside (and playing with dad).
Dad also loves playing as evidence by his futile attempts to beat a Tamarin in a foot race.
The new Carnivore exhibit and fabulous weather meant the zoo was packed. So Carter decided to climb on dad for a better view of all the action. He seemed more interested in watching all the people than the actual exhibits.
He did enjoy practicing his waving skills as people walked by.
He also had fun showing off his new vocal range including his first "mama". He might have felt inspired by the baby gorilla on the hill with his mom.
We made it around the whole zoo, stopping for a quick rest (holding a 22lb baby can be tiring!).
And Carter even stopped to take a ride. Though he was very disappointed when he couldn't get the giraffe to giddy-up.
Once last photo op in front of a very appropriate sign...
And it was into dad's new car for a much needed nap. It's rough being a baby!
